A waitress is distracted from reading a letter by the customer opposite. Eventually she cannot help but hear his story.

I wanted to make a simple short film which did not try to do too much and be aware of the limitations of the five minute format. As a result of this I looked at good short story writers such as Raymond Carver and John Cheever, who wrote stories about simple scenes or events which play out to reveal a bigger picture. I chose a simple storyline which could be used to reveal another, which I hoped would be a little ambiguous and did not spoon feed the audience, using an open beginning and end. The main driving force was to make a short student film which was little bit different and I hope I achieved that.
