I Sing the Body Electric (2002)
Grad film
Directed by Katerina Athanasopoulou
Synopsis
A film about the sensual and mechanical beauty of the animated human body.
Director's Statement
Coming across Walt Whitman’s poem “I sing the body electric”, I felt moved by its triumphant appreciation of humanity. By making it into a film, I wished to show how despite our differences in age, race and gender, we’re all exactly the same. We’re flesh and blood, we feel pain and joy, we love and want to be loved. If we realise that, how can we fail to respect and love each other.
